There is so much to consider with this picture. For just a moment I want you to open your mind, clear all pre-conceived notions, all judgement, everything you've ever been taught, just sweep it all away. Drop your fighting stance, hold on to your pounce and save your argument. Take a deep breath and exhale. Imagine this is Jesus in the boat and you are the person going under. Jesus didn't ask you a single question about yourself, He just said, "I love you, I want to save you, do you believe me?" all in the moment of a heart beat. God does not pick and choose, He already chose and those are who would believe. We've all got issues, we've all got stuff wrong with us, we are messed up! He simply said "If they will believe I will save them.". Since God's love is inclusive, this includes all people. Drunks, thieves, prostitutes, drug dealers, adulterers, liars, slanderers, those who covet, murderers, drug addicts, pimps, gangsters and gay people. If I left anyone out it includes them as well. Love wins people. Belief saves. God fixes the stuff. Jesus stands in the gap for us. We have got to do better. He said love me and love them. If you really love him you automatically love them.
